Is Your Child or Teen Struggling With?
It can be hard for young people to express what they’re feeling.
Often, their struggles show up in their behavior. We have experience helping kids and teens with:
Anxiety & Worry:
Excessive fears, social anxiety, panic attacks, or trouble separating from parents.
Depression & Moodiness:
Persistent sadness, irritability, loss of interest in activities, or isolation.
School-Related Issues:
Test anxiety, avoidance, bullying, or behavioral problems in the classroom.
Big Emotions & Anger:
Difficulty managing frustration, frequent emotional outbursts, or tantrums.
Low Self-Esteem:
Being overly self-critical, feeling “not good enough,” or struggling with confidence.
Friendship & Social Skills:
Trouble making or keeping friends, navigating social conflicts, or feeling lonely.
Life Transitions & Grief:
Adjusting to divorce, a new school, the loss of a loved one, or other major changes.
Trauma & PTSD:
Processing scary or distressing events that continue to affect their daily life.
Our Approach to Child & Teen Counseling
Therapy with children and adolescents looks different than therapy with adults.
Our therapists are specially trained in age-appropriate methods that help young people feel comfortable and open up.
For Children (Ages 5-12):
We speak their language—the language of play. Through games, art, storytelling, and creative activities, we help children:
Express feelings they can’t yet put into words.
Learn to identify and manage big emotions like anger and worry.
Develop problem-solving skills in a fun, engaging way.
Build social skills and self-confidence.
For Teens & Adolescents (Ages 13-18):
The teenage years are a time of immense change. We provide a neutral, non-judgmental space where teens can:
Talk openly about the pressures they face (academics, social media, peers, family).
Feel truly heard and understood by an adult who isn’t their parent.
Develop a stronger sense of identity and self-worth.
Learn healthy coping mechanisms for stress, anxiety, and low mood.
We believe in a collaborative approach that includes parents and caregivers. You are the expert on your child, and we are your partner. We provide guidance, support, and resources to help you reinforce the skills your child is learning in therapy at home.

Convenient & Accessible: Sessions take place right at school.
Reduces Stigma: Integrates mental health care into their normal routine.
Collaborative: We can work closely with teachers and school staff (with your permission) to provide consistent support.
Answers for Parents & Caregivers
What if my child doesn’t want to talk?
This is one of the most common concerns we hear, and it’s completely okay! Our therapists are skilled at building rapport through non-verbal methods. We use games, art, and play to help children and teens feel comfortable and build trust naturally, without pressure to “talk about their feelings” right away.
Will I be involved in my child’s therapy?
Yes. While the confidentiality of your child is important, we believe parents are essential partners. We provide regular check-ins to discuss general progress, themes of therapy, and strategies you can use at home to support your child.
How long will my child need therapy?
The length of therapy varies depending on the child and their goals. Some children see significant progress in a few months, while others may benefit from longer-term support. We will regularly review progress with you and your child to ensure we are on the right track.
Do you take insurance?
Yes, we are in-network with several insurance providers. Please visit our Insurance & Payment page for a full list. We also accept private pay.
